And here is the part where my love/hate of bridal sessions gets to reveal it’s LOVE side! I absolutely love the results of this session… and I have been DYING to put these up! So here it goes… the first image absolutely BLOWS MY MIND!

So, congratulations Elizabeth and Bryce! Your wedding was gorgeous, and emotional, and so full of love! I can’t wait to see what life has in store for you!

Now, onward. So, this past weekend I got thrown into the wonder that will be known as “The Amazing Wedding Season of 2010!” Started the weekend off with an amazing wedding on Friday with Tammy and Nathan! Then Saturday I taught a workshop in Tyler for new photographers and did 6 children’s photo shoots. Then on Sunday, I got to spend the entire day outside with 3 amazing couples!! And wrapped up with another children’s shoot on Monday morning!

Whirlwind of  a weekend, but it was SO worth it! I would not want to spend my time doing anything else! So, I wanted to give you a little sneak of this past weekend!

I’ll try to be better about keeping you updated!

The crazy awesome people at MediaBlend Studios have done something amazing… they are revolutionizing wedding videography into wedding cinematography… aka… you get to star in a movie on your wedding day! It’s pretty awesome. They have some of the most advanced equipment I’ve ever seen at a wedding… The “steady cam” is ridiculous! It adds a whole new element to your wedding “movie” that a lot of folks aren’t doing.

I got to work a wedding with them in February… and not only was it a crazy awesome wedding, they turned out a “trailor” for their video that is UNreal. You can really see the difference when you watch this video…

Back to now… When Sarah and I went to lunch, she showed me some of the amazing work she has been able to provide brides with in the past… it was UNreal!! I was blown away! I didn’t even know you could make cake look that good!! Now, I love cake… but mixing the creative love in my life, with my love of cake… you have pretty much won me over for good! When you talk to her… you need to ask her to see some of her groom’s cakes! THEY ARE RIDICULOUS! Oh… and they taste good! Which is super important as well!

She is always looking for a challenge, and when she gets one… she ROCKS at it! When she gets to try new stuff it usually turns out to be more amazing than you could EVER imagine! Seriously, when I was looking at her cakes my jaw was probably on the floor the whole time, and you know I don’t send you to people that don’t have a crazy awesome personality, so you know Sarah is so great!

Fun Facts about Sarah and Sweet Art Bakery:

1)Sarah started out teaching elementary for NINE years!! *to all those friends of mine out there who aren’t happy in their job, but are afraid of taking a plunge… DO IT! It will be the best decision you’ve ever made!!* So, you know she has a super sweet personality if she was able to hang out with kiddos for nine years!!

2)She takes classes all the time… and even teaches them! But, she knew she would do well when she started getting better than her instructors… Sometimes that is the greatest test! Those teaching us have so much to offer, but those lessons combined with the new love, and new creativity can sometimes push us in the greatest directions!

3)Why wedding cakes? Sarah thinks that the cake is the one thing on your wedding day that you and all of your guest get to use all of your senses to enjoy! Plus, have you ever seen a bride’s face when she finds out that the cake is EXACTLY what she wanted… maybe even better!! (on the flip side… it’s not a happy moment when it’s NOT what she wanted) And that’s why Sarah takes so much of herself into each cake. She is a perfectionist, and wants to get that beautiful reaction out of each of her brides!! (And I’m the lucky one who gets to capture it! I LOVE MY JOB!)

When I was starting out in photography I really would have loved for someone to teach me some of the things they learned along the way, and to give me tips and tricks to improve my photography every day. I owe a lot of what I know, and do to some of the amazing photographers I have had the pleasure of working for, with, and alongside. I would not be the photographer I am if it weren’t for the workshops I’ve been to! I want everyone to have that opportunity! So, I will be holding a teaching workshop in Tyler for anyone who is new to photography, or who just wants to learn more. I will go over tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way, as well as teach you how to have full control of your camera! We will also have 4 family/children sessions to shoot. Get EXCITED!

I get a little carried away!

I’ve been trying to think of what to say about Mary Michelle and Andrew… I’m stumped because they are so GORGEOUS I get sucked in to looking at their crazy awesome pictures! From the moment Mary Michelle walked in to Chapelle des Fleurs that day, I knew it was going to be an incredible day! She was so excited, and dressed in YELLOW! I love it when I see my brides loving color! (If you haven’t noticed I’m a little obsessed!) She and her girls were hilarious, and then to top everything off, Andrew and his guys were so funny! I love it when the guys aren’t shy in front of the camera and have me laughing so hard that sometimes I forget I’m shooting them!

At the end of the night Andrew and Mary Michelle’s dad surprised her by having the horse drawn carriage take them around for a starlit ride! She thought they were going to be leaving her stinkin amazing Corvette! So we had to give her car some love too!

There are so many stories from that day… I was nice and withheld some, so no one would be embarrassed, but let’s just say, I had a smile on my face the entire day from all the fun Lane and I had at this amazing wedding!!!

And you can tell their reception was Amaazing! I pretty much have the whole thriller dance frame by frame in our images! Hilarious! And, might I add, one of the best thriller dances I’ve ever seen!

In March we’ve got some AWESOME weddings to look forward to! One, that we are all excited about is Jana and BJ on the 12th! Their engagement session was HOT! And her bridals were even more amazing! The girl just can’t take a bad picture! The preparation process is probably one of my favorites! I love what girls go through on the day of their wedding to make sure that their new husband has the “WOW!” face when he sees her for the first time! Jana got her hair done at the Von Anthony Salon in Frisco. Super modern, hot, contemporary salon and they let us come in and take some of her bridals IN the salon! When the owner saw the end result he did not hesitate in getting some canvases up of this gorgeous girl!

The people at Von Anthony Salon are so nice, and great to work with! They want to make sure you look your absolute best on the biggest day of you life! They have an amazing area for you and your girls to get ready, the cutest bathrooms Laura’s ever seen, they do hair AND make-up. They are basically your one stop shop for AWESOME-NESS!!
